These sermons and bible studies are recorded live and edited, though not professionally.
They are presented “as is” in the hopes that they can build up God’s people. Where they are true to God’s Word we ask God’s blessing upon them. For their many faults, we ask God’s mercy and pray He can work through them despite their imperfections.
They should never be used as a replacement for active participation in a Christ honoring local church. Our prayer is that they will help those who cannot find a suitable church locally or who are providentially prohibited from attending the Lord’s House on the Lord’s Day.
If you find these sermons and studies to be a blessing and you would like to support this ministry as it teaches the Word of God worldwide, Thanks in advance for all your support!
Soli Deo Gloria! Glory to God Alone!
Chuck Huckaby, June 7, 2009Trinity Sunday - In The Name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Matt 28:18-20
“Unless we know God as Holy Trinity, we cannot live the joyous and mature Christian Lives God calls us to!”
And Jesus came and said to them, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age." (Mat 28:18-20 ESV)
The Importance of the Holy Trinity
Dear Friends, we refer to God’s nature as Triune – the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, the One True God weekly. Why is that?
Because unless we do we rob God of His glory and rob ourselves of Blessing! Unless we praise God as Trinity – we settle for a diety less glorious than God truly is and we deny ourselves the joy of serving our wonderful God. We settle for an idol.
From the very first, Jesus tells us to go, make disciples and baptize people into the ONE NAME of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
From the beginning our discipleship is linked to the Holy Trinity. Our Christian life is bound NOT to some “god” in general or some “universal force of nature”. Nor are we bound to one of the demons masquerading as a god that, for instance, promised blessings to the people of the Land if they would only sacrifice their children in the fires of Molech.
We do not know the God who offers us His covenant promises and love unless we know this God as the Holy Trinity. Who Is this Triune God who makes covenant with us in baptism?
