Diocese of St. Andrew

The Diocese of St. Andrew is a classically reformed body working along the model of the German Reformed Church of the Palatinate. It is Evangelical and Reformed which a Faith and Church Order derived from the Heidelberg Catechism and Church Order of 1563.

Genevan Psalter Resource Center

The Genevan Psalter Resource Center is the work of Michael Owens to make the Genevan Psalter more accessible to the English speaking public. The Genevan psalm tunes allowed the Psalms – which had been removed from the laity and which became the property of the cathedral choirs and the monasteries – to be returned to the people. The Psalms were only sung in Latin to the chant. The Genevan tunes were “folk music” of sorts. Preachers of the Reformed faith learned the tunes by heart and carried them across Europe and adapted the vernacular psalms in Dutch and Hungarian (Magyar) to be sung to them. Even today, the Hungarian Reformed Church uses a “Psalter Hymnal” composed of the Psalms to the Genevan tunes plus “Bible Songs” and extrabiblical (though not unbiblical!) hymns.

Genevan Psalms are a natural “companion” to the Heidelberg Catechism! Historically Dutch congregations who confess the “Three Forms of Unity” (Belgic Confession, Canons of Dordt, and Heidelberg Catechism), the Hungarian Reformed Church (confessing the 2nd Helvetic Confession and Heidelberg Catechism), and others have historically sung the Genevan Psalms.

Perhaps this website will help you join this living tradition!

Redeemer Broadcasting

Redeemer Broadcasting is “Historic Christian Radio” from an Evangelical and Reformed perspective! It’s a real radio station in Upstate New York that also broadcasts online. If you want some spiritual meat in your daily radio listening… this is the channel! Listen to their streaming audio here: Redeemer.

Reformatus.us

Reformatus.us is the website for Hungarian Reformed Christians in North America and the Diaspora. Rev. Chuck Huckaby’s ministerial credentials are with the Calvin Synod, a member of the larger Hungarian Reformed family.

The Hungarian Reformed Church is part of a unique tradition – an undivided “Protestant national covenant Church” dating back to the Reformation.

Shorter Catechism Project

The Westminster Shorter Catechism was written after the Heidelberg Catechism. The Westminster Shorter Catechism was most often used in English speaking lands and in “Presbyterian” contexts. The Shorter Catechism Project has done an excellent job of providing resources for students of this confessional document. Their efforts inspired this project for the Heidelberg Catechism, though the two projects are in no way connected organizationally.
