Jehovah-Jireh: The Lord Provides A Substitute
Genesis 22:1-19

“We only understand the completeness of God’s provision in life and salvation when we endure the time of testing and God’s call to sacrifice.”

One might think that Abraham had learned the lesson of trust. But evidently not well enough. It’s just like us to believe we have finally “arrived” spiritually and that we trust God “enough”.

God tests us however to demonstrate His faithfulness and to demonstrate that the lengths to which He asks us to go are nothing compared to the giving of His only begotten Son for the salvation of sinners.

The Problem with Living Sacrifices is…They Usually Crawl off the Altar

Abraham had waited 25 years for God’s miraculous answer and provision of the Child of Promise. Abraham would have other children, but only the unique son, Isaac, who was born through Sarah would be the Son through whom salvation for the world would ultimately come.
